The students of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) have landed attractive job offers from well-known companies in the country. The students reportedly have been offered good salary packages. It is pertinent to note that ever since the placement season began, a total of 7,000 students registered themselves in the placement drive for the year 2023. In a positive development, the university has maintained a 90% placement record with its students being offered salary packages ranging from Rs 1 lakh per annum to Rs 20 lakh per annum.
Earlier this year, AKTU made headlines as the students of the university were provided lucrative job offers. 12 of the B-tech and MBA students from the institution landed job offers of packages worth Rs 4 lakh per annum. Additionally, the in charge of the AKTU placement cell, Professor Arunima Verma informed that “200 students were placed and got the job at a handsome salary package during the tenure of about.” Meanwhile, in the year 2022, the highest placement of the institution was Rs 1.13 crore per annum, offered by Amazon.
Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), AKTU was established in 2000 by the then-state government. The university affiliates the institutions across the state offering technical education programmes. These programmes include engineering, pharmacy and architecture. As per the data, a total of 183 private and 15 government colleges offering BTech courses are affiliated with AKTU. Meanwhile, 73 private and seven government colleges for admission into MTech programmes are affiliated with AKTU.
Unfortunately, not even a single AKTU college could make it to the top 100 engineering colleges in the government’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022. The private Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Noida, however, ranked at 145. Besides, another five colleges stood at 187th and 300th positions respectively.
