Mangaluru: The 13th edition of the two-day Alva’s Pragati mega job fair will be held at Alva’s College, Moodbidri, from October 6.
Addressing the reporters on Tuesday, Vivek Alva, managing trustee, Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri said in the last 12 editions, close to 37,600 candidates have been shortlisted for various positions. This year, so far 112 companies have registered, and expect to see an additional 97 companies register in the coming days.
“Alva’s Pragati, in its past 12 editions, has always remained committed to the goal of providing candidates with a wide range of employment options and also showcasing the enormous talent pool, particularly from rural and underprivileged sections, for recruiting companies,” he said, adding that the event is a CSR initiative of the Alva’s Education Foundation and is completely free of cost for both job seekers and participating companies.
Alva’s Pragati 2023 features the participation of top recruiters representing major sectors such as BFSI, IT, ITes, manufacturing, sales and retail, hospitality, telecommunication, health, media, construction, education, and NGOs. These sectors offer a large number of openings for graduates and postgraduates in various streams such as medical and para-medical, engineering, arts, commerce and management, basic sciences, nursing, ITI, diploma, skilled manpower with PUC and SSLC, and other qualifications.

Vivek added that companies such as Volvo Trucks, Sun Electric, and Usha Armour are specifically hiring female mechanical engineers.
