Jharkhand Halwai’s Daughter Joins BSF, Says It Was Childhood Dream To Don Uniform – News18

It has always been a dream of millions of Indians over the years to join the defence forces and be able to don a uniform. One of the most prominent and well-respected jobs in the nation is guaranteed for those who choose a career in the armed services or the central armed police force. There is no better option for young people who want to pursue a career filled with excitement, adventure and challenges to accomplish all of their professional aspirations. It goes without saying that it also gives you the satisfaction of serving your nation.

Just like countless other youngsters in the country, Monica Kumari of Ratdih village under Bengabad block of Giridih, Jharkhand grew up with a strong attraction towards the uniform and the dream of serving in the forces. She has recently just cracked the exam for the Border Security Force (BSF). Her parents Nageshwar Mandal and Anita Devi were hardly able to make ends meet and was with very difficulty that enrolled at Monica Girls High School, Bengabad. She studied here till her Class 10 and then enrolled at SS High School, Bengabad for Class 12.

Her father Nageshwar works as a confectioner in a hotel and his wife Anita Devi is a housewife. Monica has seen her parents go through hardships and hence wanted to help her parents in running the house as soon as possible. She wanted to be a Sub Inspector (SI) and while preparing for it, she came across the BSF form.

After the written examination, there was a physical examination, in both of which she was successful. Now her name has appeared on the merit list. She said to the media that she will continue preparing for SI while pursuing graduation from Giridih College.

Monica added that she could not afford coaching and hence depended on YouTube videos to go about the preparation. She also kept herself physically fit by running regularly in the nearby fields.

Monica will now go through 11 months of training for BSF. after which she will be posted.
