The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) published its 2024 rankings, offering key insights into India’s top law colleges. For the seventh consecutive year, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru has secured the top spot, demonstrating its continued excellence. Gujarat, Telangana, and Karnataka have all featured prominently in the top 10, highlighting the region’s strength in legal education.

For prospective law students, the rankings provide a range of options, including both specialised law universities and multidisciplinary institutions such as IIT Kharagpur.

1. National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, Karnataka

NIRF Score: 83.83 | Ranking: #1

NLSIU, established in 1986, was India’s first National Law University.
