CBSE Board exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to begin the Class 10 and 12 board examinations on February 15. Over 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad are expected to take part in these crucial exams. On the first day, Class 10 students will appear for the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, while Class 12 students will write the Entrepreneurship paper. The exams will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Admit cards and required documents
Admit cards for both Class 10 and 12 have been issued through school login on the Pariksha Sangam Portal. Regular students must carry their admit cards along with their school identity cards, while private candidates need to bring a government-issued photo ID along with their admit card.
Exam hall regulations and prohibited items
To maintain the integrity of the examination process, CBSE has outlined clear guidelines regarding permitted and prohibited items inside the exam hall:
Allowed items:
- Admit card and school ID (for regular students) or government-issued photo ID (for private candidates)
- Transparent pouch with essential stationery: blue or royal blue ink/ballpoint/gel pen, pencil, eraser, geometry box, scale, and writing pad
- Transparent water bottle, analogue watch (without calculator), metro card, bus pass, and money
- Students with Dyscalculia may use calculators provided by the exam centre
Prohibited items
- Electronic devices, including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, smartwatches, and cameras
- Unauthorized study materials such as textbooks, notes, and flashcards
- Wallets, handbags, goggles, pouches, or any similar items
- Any food or drink (except for diabetic students with prior approval)
Dress code and exam day instructions
CBSE mandates that regular students must wear their school uniforms, while private candidates should opt for light-coloured clothing. Students are advised to arrive at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time and carefully read the instructions on the question paper before attempting answers.
With Class 10 exams running until March 13 and Class 12 exams concluding on April 2, students must strictly adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair examination process. As the exams begin, thorough preparation and compliance with rules will be key to success in this academic milestone.
