Railway RRB NTPC Exam Date to be released soon.

RRB NTPC Exam Date: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is expected to announce the RRB NTPC exam dates by the end of February. Candidates can expect the dates to be released by next week.

The registration for graduate-level posts started on September 14, 2024, and ended on October 13, 2024. For undergraduate-level posts, the application process was open from September 21 to October 20, 2024.

The RRB NTPC selection process includes computer-based tests (CBTs) and, if required, computer-based typing skill tests or computer-based aptitude tests.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 11,558 vacancies, with 8,113 graduate-level posts and 3,445 undergraduate-level posts.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

First Stage CBT

The first stage CBT is the same for all posts and is conducted for screening purposes. The exam lasts 90 minutes and consists of three sections:

  • General Awareness
  • Mathematics
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning

The marks from this stage are normalized, and candidates are shortlisted for the second stage CBT based on their scores. To improve their chances, aspirants should practice previous years’ question papers.

Second Stage CBT

In the second stage CBT, candidates are shortlisted in a 1:20 ratio (20 times the number of vacancies) based on their first stage performance.

This exam also lasts 90 minutes and includes the same three sections:

  • General Awareness
  • Mathematics
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning

Those who qualify for this stage move forward to the skill test, depending on the post they have applied for.

Typing Skill Test & CBAT

The Typing Skill Test and CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test) are conducted for specific posts:

  • CBAT is for Station Master and Traffic Assistant.
  • Typing Skill Test is required for Junior Clerk, Senior Clerk, Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk, and Junior Account Assistant.

Candidates are shortlisted for these tests in a 1:8 ratio (eight times the number of vacancies) based on their second-stage CBT scores.

Document Verification

After clearing the required exams, candidates are called for document verification. Selection is based on merit and the number of vacancies. Only those who qualify in all previous stages are invited for this process.

Medical Examination

Finally, selected candidates must pass a medical examination to ensure they meet the physical fitness requirements for their respective posts.

The RRBs only recommend the names of selected candidates, while the final appointment is made by the respective RRBs.
