GATE 2025: IIT Roorkee will release the provisional answer key on gate2025.iitr.ac.in along with candidates’ response sheets.

GATE 2025: The exam was held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.

GATE 2025 Answer Key: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is set to release the answer key for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. While the exact release date and time for the provisional answer key have not been announced yet, candidates can download it from the official GATE 2025 website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in as soon as it becomes available.

Along with the provisional answer key, IIT Roorkee will also release the response sheets of candidates who appeared for the exam. This will allow candidates to calculate their approximate scores by comparing their response sheets with the answer key. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to raise objections against the provisional answer key, provided they present valid evidence.

Steps To Download GATE 2025 Answer Key & Response Sheet

Step 1: Visit the official GATE 2025 website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link to download the GATE 2025 answer key.

Step 3: A login screen will appear. Enter your credentials to access your account.

Step 4: Once logged in, the answer key and your response sheet will be available for download.

Step 5: Download the GATE 2025answer key and response sheet

Step 6: Review the answers and calculate your scores using the answer key and respinse sheet

Candidates will be allowed to submit objections against the provisional answer key, along with the required evidence. IIT Roorkee will review the objections and release the final answer key along with the GATE 2025 results.

What Is GATE?

The GATE 2025 exam, conducted by IIT Roorkee, took place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. GATE is a national-level exam used for admissions to master’s and doctoral programs in engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities, as well as for employment in certain public sector organizations.

GATE Scorecard remains valid for three years from the date of the declaration of the result.

GATE 2025: Exam Pattern & Negative Marking 

The types of questions include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. In MCQs, only one out of four options is correct.

In MSQs, one or more than one out of four options is/are correct; and for NAT questions, the answer must be keyed in using a virtual keypad. The candidates must use only the on-screen virtual calculator provided for their calculations.

Questions in the exam are worth either 1 mark or 2 marks. Incorrect answers in multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will incur negative marking.

For a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

For a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

However, there is no negative marking for wrong answers in Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Additionally, partial marking is not awarded for any question.
