The wedding of two IAS officers has captured widespread attention and their love story has become a hot topic across social media platforms. The couple—Praveen Kumar and Anamika Singh—are both from the 2020 batch of IAS officers. Both hailing from Bihar, Praveen Kumar is currently serving in Bihar, while Anamika is posted in Uttarakhand.

These two dynamic individuals, who passed the prestigious UPSC exam to become IAS officers, recently tied the knot with much celebration. Their wedding photos are rapidly going viral, drawing admiration from all corners.

IAS Praveen Kumar’s Journey: IIT Graduate Turned UPSC Topper

Praveen Kumar hails from Jamui in Bihar. His father runs a medical store, and his mother is a housewife. Praveen completed his schooling in Jamui before clearing the JEE exam and enrolling for a B.Tech degree at IIT Kanpur. After graduation, he chose to pursue his dream of joining the civil services. Though he faced setbacks in his initial attempts at the UPSC exam, Praveen’s determination paid off on his third attempt. He secured an impressive all-India rank of 7 in the 2020 UPSC exam. Following a year of rigorous training, Praveen Kumar was appointed to the Bihar cadre as an IAS officer.

Anamika Singh’s Journey: From BPSC To UPSC Success

Anamika Singh who hails from Bakhri village in the Kuchaykot block of Gopalganj district, Bihar, is the daughter of a retired army officer. Due to her father’s profession, Anamika was educated at an Army School in Yamunanagar. After completing her 12th grade, Anamika pursued a B.Tech in Computer Science from AIT Pune.

After her studies, she moved to Delhi to prepare for UPSC, but during this time, she also appeared for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam, securing an impressive 8th rank in the 65th BPSC exam. While she faced two failures in the UPSC exam, Anamika persevered and finally succeeded in the 2020 examination, securing the 348th rank. After completing her year-long training, she was appointed as an IAS officer in Uttarakhand in 2021.

Bihar IAS Officers Wedding: A Celebration In Gorakhpur

Anamika and Praveen exchanged vows in a grand ceremony held in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, attended by several political leaders and prominent officials. At present, IAS Praveen Kumar serves as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for Hilsa Subdivision in Nalanda district, Bihar, while Anamika Singh holds the position of SDM in the Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
