IIM Bangalore’s 2024 placements saw all 595 students secure positions across 176 firms, with consulting accounting for 41% of the total offers.
IIM-Bangalore’s 2023-25 batch receives record 650 offers.
All 595 students from the PGP and PGPBA Class of 2023-25 at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) secured placements across 176 firms.
Professor Nishant Verma, Chairperson of Career Development Services at IIM Bangalore, remarked: “Despite a challenging global job market, IIM Bangalore conducted the placement process seamlessly. We are pleased to share that this year’s placement season set new benchmarks in terms of the number of offers made and the diversity of roles across various sectors. This also reflects the Institute’s strong collaboration with industry partners, where both existing and new relationships have been mutually beneficial.”
Tapas Ranjan Pati, Head of Career Development Services at IIMB, added: “The Career Development Services team and the Student Placement Committee have shown exceptional commitment, securing a record number of job offers during the placement week. Leading global recruiters provided highly positive feedback on both the students’ performance and the efficiency of the placement process.”
Key Trends And Sector-wise Placement Breakdown
Management Consulting remained the most sought-after career path, accounting for 41% of total job offers, followed by Technology/Product Management and Investment Banking. Other key sectors included FMCG, Retail, E-commerce, Conglomerates, Fintech, Healthcare, and Manufacturing, covering functions such as strategy, finance, marketing, general management, product management, operations, and analytics.
The Student Placement Committee stated: “With the largest batch among all IIMs, this placement season witnessed strong participation from both established and new recruiters, with nearly 30% being first-time recruiters. We also secured over 100 offers in the Lateral Placement Process (for candidates with more than 18 months of work experience), the highest among the top B-schools in India. This season reaffirms IIM Bangalore’s strong industry reputation and the deep trust recruiters place in our students.”

The Consulting sector saw the highest number of placements, with 245 offers extended across 32 firms, including Accenture ATCI, Accenture Strategy, Alvarez & Marsal, Arthur D. Little, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, EY India, EY Parthenon, Kearney, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, Oliver Wyman, PwC, Strategy&, and TCS Management Consulting.
The IT, Software, Analytics, and Product Management sector attracted 34 firms, offering 80 positions. Some of the key recruiters in this domain were Adobe, Amagi Media Labs, BrowserStack, Capgemini, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Pine Labs, ThoughtSpot, and UKG.
The Finance, Banking, and Investment sector recorded 79 offers from 41 companies, with major recruiters including Axis Bank, Bank of America, Barclays, CitiBank, D.E. Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Kotak Mahindra Capital, and Standard Chartered Bank.
In the E-commerce, Payments, Telecom, and Logistics sector, 19 firms extended 70 offers. Notable recruiters included Amazon, American Express, Flipkart, Myntra, PhonePe, Swiggy, Visa, and Zomato.
The Manufacturing, Construction, Energy, and Infrastructure domain witnessed participation from 19 firms, which collectively made 38 job offers. Some of the leading recruiters in this segment were Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel, Asian Paints, Indian Oil Corporation, Lodha Group, ReNew Power, Samsung Electronics, and Tata Steel.
The FMCG and Retail sector saw 37 placements across 16 firms, with major recruiters including AB InBev, Amul, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Kraft Heinz, Mondelez, Pidilite, and Procter & Gamble.
The Conglomerates sector accounted for 23 offers across 8 firms, including Adani Group, Aditya Birla Group, CK Birla Group, Mahindra Group, RPG Group, Tata Administrative Services, and Vedanta.
Lastly, the Healthcare and Education sector witnessed 23 job offers from 8 firms, with key recruiters such as Alkem Laboratories, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Haleon, Health City Cayman Islands, Optum, Sun Pharmaceuticals, IDF, and IIMBx.
