Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will announce Gunotsav 2025 results today, March 27. The event will be held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra 11:30 am onwards.
Sharing this information on X, the state’s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that this year, the 17,585 external evaluators evaluated 38,98,945 students at 44,077 schools.
Pegu added that the government will award tablets to 4,320 students and ₹25,000 each to 11,594 A+ graded schools

Gunotsav is a state government initiative aimed at bringing qualitative improvement to the school education system.

It is a sensus-based evaluation covering four areas- Scholastic (learning outcomes), Co-scholastic and other areas, Community Participation and Contribution and Availability and Use of Infrastructure.
Scholastic: 90 per cent weightage
Co-scholastic and other areas: 5 per cent
Community Participation and Contributions: 5 per cent
The infrastructure part is not considered for grading.
Gunotsav covers classes 1 to 9 students in government/provincialised, tea garden management, tea garden model, adarsha vidyalaya, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and residential schools. The evaluation is OMR-based and schools receive A+, A, B, C and D grades based on their performances.

The government says Gunotsav has created a massive awareness among parents/guardians, teachers, the community, etc.
The fist Gunotsav was held in 2017 in which 48,468 schools participated and 6,037(12.35 per cent) achieved the A+ grade.
“Gunotsav helps to identify learning gap/s of individual child and to take remedial measures accordingly. Remedial teaching on scholastic area has been provided on weak learning outcomes focusing on C & D grade schools. Based on Gunotsav result, infrastructural development like partition wall, electrification etc. have been done. Twinning between schools attaining A+ and A Grade with the schools attaining B & C so that the partnership can be utilized for good performing schools to support schools with specific needs and sharing of best practices,” according to the official website.
