With the announcement of the Bihar board intermediate results, the daughters of Bihar have shone brightly. Girls have topped both the Commerce and Arts streams. Roshni Kumari from Kashipur Phulwara in Vaishali district emerged as the Commerce topper, while Ankita from Aba Bakarpur in the Cheharkala block topped in Arts. The entire Vaishali district, along with the villagers, is celebrating the success of Ankita and Roshni.

Local18 visited Ankita’s village and spoke to her family members. Ankita’s father, Anil Sharma, runs a bike servicing shop and works as a bike mechanic.

Father’s Hard Work And Daughter’s Determination

Anil Sharma’s life has been full of struggles. He used to cycle 17 km to Mahua to learn bike repair before opening his bike servicing shop in the village square.

Inspired by her father’s struggles, Ankita has decided to become a teacher. She told Local18 that she wants to become a teacher because teachers build character, and India’s second President, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, was also a teacher. She mentioned that her parents and family members have supported her immensely.

Ankita studied at Brahmanand High School. “I used to study for eight hours daily. Besides school, I also attended a coaching centre, but I focused more on self-study. There were many struggles during my studies, but my parents and grandparents supported me immensely. However, I never expected to become the Bihar topper; I was just feeling that I would pass with good marks,” she said.

Ankita also mentioned that they did not have sufficient funds for coaching fees, so her mother, Baby Sharma, arranged money from various sources. Her parents were not at home when they were informed that she had become the Bihar topper, but they were overjoyed.

Her parents had travelled to Haridwar with their elder daughter, Amrita. Ankita’s elder sister is also among the district toppers in the Class 12 examinations. Her grandfather, Sachindra Sharma, was extremely proud of his granddaughter’s success.
