The skill test for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2024, is scheduled for April 16 and 17, 2025.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the exam city intimation slips for the Stenographer Grade C and Grade D skill test, available for download at ssc.gov.in. According to the official notification, admit cards and the scribe’s entry pass will be released two days prior to the exam.
Candidates who passed the Computer Based Examination will need to appear in the stenography skill test. A total of 9,343 candidates have been qualified in the CBT for the post of stenographer Grade C, and 26,608 for the post of stenographer Grade D.
The skill test for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2024, is scheduled for April 16 and 17, 2025. The final selection will be based on performance in both the CBT and the Skill Test, followed by Document Verification.
In the skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted in the online application form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (wpm) for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 wpm for Stenographer Grade ‘D’. Candidates opting for the stenography test in Hindi will need to learn English stenography, and vice versa, after their appointment. Failing to do so may result in their probation not being cleared by the appointing departments/organisations.
The SSC Steno 2024 Grade C and D paper I exams were held on December 10 and 11, 2024. The question paper consisted of Objective-Type Multiple-Choice questions (MCQs) available in both English and Hindi. In the Computer-Based Examination, a penalty of 0.25 marks was applied for each incorrect answer.
SSC Steno 2024 Cut-Off & Qualifying Marks
The Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination was held across various centres nationwide, and the results reveal the following qualifying marks:
UR (General Category): 30 per cent
OBC/EWS: 25 per cent
All other categories (SC, ST, PwD, ESM, etc.): 20 per cent
