Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut now offers a BSc in Jewellery Design with 50 seats. The course includes practical training and costs Rs 45,000 per year

Meerut is famous for its highly sought-after jewellery, which is in demand not only across India but also in major Asian countries. This is attributed to the variety of attractive designs crafted here. Recognising this, Chaudhary Charan Singh University has introduced a BSc in Jewellery Design course to help students build a bright future alongside their studies.

Professor Bindu Sharma, the Coordinator of the BSc Jewellery Design course at the university, highlighted that students are receiving quality education aimed at enhancing their employment prospects.

In addition to academic instruction, students also receive practical jewellery design training at the National Institute of Jewellery Technology in Meerut. This initiative enables students to pursue a career in jewellery within the city itself.

The course fee has been set at Rs 45,000 per year. Students who complete one year of the programme will receive a diploma, those who complete two years will receive an advanced diploma, and those who complete the full three-year course will be awarded a degree. The course has a total of 50 seats available.

Previously, students had to travel to Delhi or Mumbai to pursue such courses, but now they can access high-quality education and training in Meerut.

The presence of numerous artisans from West Bengal working in the city, coupled with the growing demand for jewellery design in Meerut, makes this course a significant opportunity for students. Interested candidates can apply through the university’s online registration process. The course is open to students from any academic stream.
