Bihar Home Guard Recruitment 2025: The Bihar Home Guard and Fire Services department will end the registration process for 15,000 Home Guard vacancies across the state today, April 16, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply on the official website – onlinebhg.bihar.gov.in. The recruitment drive covers 37 districts in Bihar, excluding Arwal district, Police district Naugachhia, and Bagaha district.

Bihar Home Guard Registration 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Residence: Candidates must be permanent residents of Bihar.

Age: As of January 1, 2025, the minimum age for male, female, and third-gender candidates should be 19 years, and the maximum age should be 40 years.

Educational Qualification: January 1, 2025, the candidate must have passed Higher Secondary (Intermediate) or an equivalent examination recognised by the state government.

Physical Fitness: The candidate must be physically capable of performing strenuous fieldwork.

Physical Standards:

Height: For male candidates of all categories (excluding districts of Purnia and Kosi Divisions), the minimum height should be 5 feet 4 inches (162.56 cm).

For male candidates from the districts of Purnia and Kosi Divisions (Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Saharsa, Supaul, and Madhepura), the minimum height should be 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cm).

For female candidates of all categories, the minimum height should be 153 cm.

Chest: For male candidates of all categories (excluding male candidates from the districts of Purnia and Kosi Divisions), the chest (without expanding) should be 31 inches (79 cm).

For male candidates from the districts of Purnia and Kosi Divisions (Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Saharsa, Supaul, and Madhepura), the chest (without expanding) should be 30 inches (76 cm).

There will be no chest measurement requirement for female candidates.

Note: For third-gender candidates, the physical standards and physical efficiency test criteria will be the same as those for female candidates.

Home Guard recruitment will be done through written examination and physical tests. The written examination is likely to be in offline mode.
