BPSC 70th CCE Mains 2025: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued revised exam-day guidelines for the upcoming 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Mains 2025. As per the latest official notice, the use of calculators will be allowed selectively, depending on the nature of each paper.
The BPSC 70th CCE Mains 2025 is scheduled to be held across five days, April 25, 26, 28, 29, and 30, 2025. The examination is being conducted to fill 2,035 vacancies in various departments of the Bihar state government.
The official notice, originally in Hindi, reads, “Under the 70th Combined Main (Written) Competitive Examination, candidates are allowed to use a simple calculator in the General Studies Paper I.”
Who can use calculators in BPSC 70th CCE Mains 2025?
Candidates appearing for the General Studies Paper I on April 26, 2025, will be permitted to use simple calculators during the exam. However, the optional subject paper scheduled in the first shift on April 29 will be in objective format, and therefore, the use of any type of calculator is strictly prohibited in that session.
For candidates who are scheduled to appear in the the BPSC 70th CCE Mains Mathematics and Statistics optional paper on April 30, 2025, the use of scientific calculators has been allowed.
The Commission has further clarified that these calculator-related instructions override the earlier guidance issued under Clause 7 of the admit card. Candidates are advised to take note of the revised guidelines and plan accordingly.
The BPSC Mains Examination will comprise of four papers, namely, General Hindi, General Studies Paper I, General Studies Paper II, and one Optional Subject paper. Final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the Mains examination followed by a personal interview. The had announced a total of 2,035 vacancies for various administrative positions.

Recently, BPSC has also made the CCE Mains examination admit cards available on its official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in, since April 12, 2025. All registered candidates are advised to download their hall tickets well in advance and verify the details carefully.
