With just a few days remaining for JEE Advanced 2025, scheduled on May 18, aspirants are entering the final and most crucial phase of their preparation. At this stage, it’s no longer about studying everything from scratch—it’s about revising smartly, refining your strategy, and maintaining both physical and mental well-being for the big day. Here’s a concise guide to help students optimise these final days.
1. Revise Chemistry with Precision
In Organic Chemistry, prioritise reaction mechanisms, named reactions, and their exceptions. For Inorganic Chemistry, rely heavily on NCERT textbooks, especially for topics like the block elements and coordination compounds. Use flashcards, summary tables, and mind maps for efficient memorisation.
2. Reinforce Key Physics Concepts
Focus on revising fundamental theories and formulae from key areas such as mechanics, electromagnetism, and optics. Avoid exploring new topics at this point. Instead, deepen your conceptual clarity using standard resources like HC Verma and Irodov.
3. Practice Selective Questions
Rather than attempting entire books, solve carefully chosen questions from chapters you find challenging. Focus on quality over quantity, giving preference to high-weightage topics and previous years’ JEE Advanced problems.
4. Mock Tests: Your Final Weapon
Attempt one full-length mock test each day at the same time as the actual exam to align your biological clock. Replicate real exam conditions and practise stress management techniques. Post-test analysis is crucial—update your error logbook regularly to avoid repeating mistakes and improve both accuracy and speed.
5. Strengthen Weak Areas
Identify your weak topics and devote focused time to them. Whether it’s inorganic chemistry, electromagnetism, or calculus, aim to solve at least 200 problems per chapter where confidence is lacking. Make use of quality problem banks like Cengage, A. Das Gupta, and MS Chouhan.
6. Smart Time Management and Goal Setting
Set clear daily revision goals. Avoid random studying—structure your day with subject-wise slots and keep revision sessions concise yet effective. Avoid mental exhaustion; conserve energy for the final day.
7. Maintain Discipline and Limit Distractions
Minimise distractions, particularly social media. Stick to a consistent daily routine and avoid erratic study patterns. Discipline fosters consistency, which is vital at this stage.
8. Health is Non-Negotiable
Ensure 7–8 hours of quality sleep to boost focus and retention. Eat light, nutritious meals and stay well-hydrated. Engage in light physical activity, meditation, or breathing exercises to manage stress.

9. Stay Calm and Confident on D-Day
Confidence is just as important as competence. Avoid last-minute panic. Read the exam instructions carefully, start with easier questions, and avoid spending too much time on any single problem. Trust your preparation and aim for accuracy to reduce negative marking.
10. Don’t Over-Revise
In the final two days, shift your focus from intense revision to light review and relaxation. Preserve your mental energy for the exam day.
