Jamia Millia Islamia announces training programme on AI & machine learning

The Department of Computer Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, is set to conduct the third edition of its Short-Term Training Programme (STTP) on ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)’ from July 1 to July 19, 2025. The course is a 50-hour hybrid-mode course aims to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in AI and ML.

The STTP will include lectures and training sessions conducted by experts from JMI and other esteemed institutions, including IITs, IIITs, and international universities. Industry professionals will also contribute, ensuring participants gain insights from both academic and practical perspectives.

The STTP is open to candidates from diverse academic backgrounds, including diploma holders, undergraduates, postgraduates, and PhD scholars, provided they have a foundation in mathematics. This inclusive approach ensures a broad spectrum of participants can benefit from the program.

Course structure

The program comprises 20 hours of theoretical lectures and 30 hours of hands-on practical training. It is divided into five comprehensive modules:

–Introduction to AI & Python Programming Basics

–Applied Data Science with Python

–Machine Learning Algorithms

–Deep Learning for Computer Vision with Keras & TensorFlow

–Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Keras & TensorFlow

These modules are designed to equip participants with both foundational knowledge and advanced skills in AI and ML.

How to apply?

A total of 160 seats are available, with 60 allocated for offline participants and 100 for online attendees. Admissions will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested individuals must submit their registration forms by May 24, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on May 26, and selected candidates will receive email notifications by May 28. The deadline for fee payment is June 5, 2025.

Further, limited accommodation is available for outstation participants on a paid, first-come, first-served basis. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate.
