UPSC CSE Prelims 2025: Candidates can download GS Paper 1 and GS Paper 2 from upsc.gov.in.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE Prelims) 2025 question papers. Those who wish to check the exam paper can now download the GS Paper 1 and GS Paper 2 PDFs from the official website — upsc.gov.in.

The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 was held on May 25 (Sunday) in two shifts, with each shift spanning two hours. The exam consisted of:

General Studies Paper 1

General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT)

How To Download UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Question Papers?

Step 1:  Visit the official UPSC website – upsc.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the ‘Examinations’ tab and select ‘Active Examinations’

Step 3: Open the ‘Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025’ page

Step 4: Scroll to the second table and click on the links for GS Paper 1 and GS Paper 2

Step 5: Download the PDFs and review the questions

This year, UPSC aims to fill around 979 vacancies across various Group A and Group B services through the Civil Services Examination.

UPSC CSE Selection Process:

Prelims: Objective-type exam with negative marking

Mains: Written descriptive examination

Interview/Personality Test: Final stage for shortlisted candidates

What Is Next After UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2025?

The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 result will be announced and those candidates who will be declared qualified will be eligible to appear for the UPSC CSE Mains 2025 written examination. The Commission will open a 10-day window for candidates to submit their cadre preferences after the declaration of the UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2025.

All candidates who qualify the prelims must submit their cadre preferences during this period and pay a fee of Rs 200 to be eligible for the Civil Services (Main) Examination.

Each eligible candidate is allowed a maximum of six (6) attempts at the Civil Services Examination. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, and PwBD categories will receive relaxation in the number of attempts, as per the applicable rules.
