Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann announced air travel educational tours for top-performing government school students to inspire academic growth and recognize achievements.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday announced that the state government will arrange air travel educational tours for top-performing students from government schools across the state, as reported by PTI. While interacting with high-achieving students from various districts at a special event in Chandigarh, Mann said these students will be taken to some of the country’s premier educational institutions.

The initiative aims to broaden their exposure and inspire future academic and personal growth. Calling it a first-of-its-kind event, CM Mann said the state government has organised this programme to formally recognise and celebrate the achievements of these outstanding students.

Mann also extended his appreciation to the parents and teachers, crediting them alongside the students for the success. He noted that while the students worked tirelessly to reach this milestone, the unwavering support and dedication of their parents and teachers played an equally crucial role.

Encouraging students to carefully choose role models in fields they are passionate about, Mann urged them to strive for excellence and become guiding lights for others.

The announcement marks a significant step in promoting academic excellence in Punjab’s public education system, while also providing students with real-world exposure beyond the classroom.

The chief minister said the previous governments never paid heed to imparting quality education.

Sons and daughters of big politicians used to study in convent schools in the hills due to which the government schools were never the thrust areas for these leaders, he said, adding that government schools were merely mid-day meal centres during the previous regimes.

The chief minister emphasised that promoting healthy competition among students is essential, as it encourages them to excel in academics and can significantly transform their lives.

He stated that the government’s primary focus is to empower the youth to become job creators rather than job seekers, highlighting the importance of their active participation in building a progressive and prosperous Punjab.

He also urged young people to establish their own identity and strive to make a lasting impact on society, reminding them that their potential is limitless.
