This year, for the first time, the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is being implemented across Maharashtra. This means students from any region can now apply to junior colleges throughout the state using a single, unified online platform.

The admission process accommodates approximately 20 lakh seats across the state, with 8.52 lakh seats allocated to the Science stream, 5.40 lakh seats to Commerce, and 6.50 lakh seats to Arts. To improve accessibility, the official portal was briefly taken offline to enable mobile compatibility, ensuring a smoother application process for students. Additionally, the government introduced a dedicated helpline number and email ID to assist with CAP-related queries, providing further support to applicants.
