List of Top Universities in India as per QS Ranking 2023

On March 22, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 report was publicised. 44 programmes offered by higher education institutions in India were among the top 100 globally this year, up from 35 programmes the year before.

India has advanced in the world’s biggest QS World University Rankings by Subject owing to 66 Indian universities receiving a total of 355 entries, a rise of 18.7% over the previous year. After China (Mainland), India has the second-highest presence in Asia in terms of the number of rated universities.

Whereas the rankings comprise 54 fields of knowledge, the Indian higher education institutions have scored well in the subjects of computer science, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Management Studies, and Physics, claims a statement released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The mathematics curriculum offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bombay placed 92nd globally, making it into the top 100 categories. The Electrical Engineering programme at IIT Delhi, which is ranked 49th globally, entered the top 50 categories for the first time, while the Electrical Engineering programme at IIT Kanpur, which is ranked 87th, made its debut in the top 100 categories.
