AIBE 19 result 2025: Revised passing marks announced

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has announced that following the withdrawal of seven questions, the final result will be determined based on 93 questions instead of 100. For candidates in the General and OBC categories, the passing mark is set at 45% of 93 marks, which equates to 42 marks. Meanwhile, for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and disabled categories, the passing mark is 40% of 93 marks, rounding off to 37 marks.

AIBE 19 Final Answer Key: Seven questions withdrawn

The AIBE 19 examination was held on December 22, 2024, and the provisional answer key was released on December 28, 2024, allowing candidates to submit objections. After reviewing the challenges raised, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the final answer key on March 6, 2025. What comes next, after the AIBE 19 results have been declared?

Once candidates qualify the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), they are eligible to apply for a Certificate of Practice (CoP) from the Bar Council of India. This certification is required to practise law in India.

To obtain the CoP, candidates must submit an application to their state bar council. Only people with this certification can represent clients before courts, tribunals, and administrative authorities. A law graduate cannot practise as an advocate unless he or she has the CoP.
