The Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu took to his Twitter handle to share an official notice released by SEBA.
As per the notice, the English paper of the Assam Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate has been cancelled after the Board received a report from the district officials about some students of Higher Secondary School, Ganir Gram Kendra have used unfair means to sit for the examination.
The notice further mentions that SEBA has received verbal complaints from other examination centres as well and the concerned district authorities have been asked to submit reports regarding the same. The Board will take strict action against those who have violated or violate the exam rules in the coming days.

Looking at this, the Board has therefore urged the candidates, parents, and examination officers to cooperate in the smooth conduct of the upcoming exams without violating the examination rules and regulations.
After the incident, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reportedly summoned the SEBA secretary Naranyaran Nath in this regard. The minister asked the examination authorities to cancel the Assam HSLC English paper 2023 in all centres where unfair means were reported.
SEBA is expected to announce a fresh date for the Assam HSLC English exam soon. Students are advised to keep checking the official website of the board and wait for the official announcement.
