GREATER NOIDA: The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), a premier business school, has concluded the Rural Immersion Program 2025 – Reflection Day, a landmark event that brought together students, faculty, industry leaders, government officials, and rural women to celebrate and reflect on the outcomes of the program.

The event was attended by Manish Kumar Verma, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar, and Sita Srivastava, Income Tax Commissioner, alongside industry leaders from the HR and CSR domains. Adding to the program’s impact, 40 rural women from various villages, accompanied by the U-Turn4Nature team, participated in the discussions.

First-Hand Exposure to Rural Realities
BIMTECH, in collaboration with U-Turn4Nature, an NGO dedicated to sustainable rural development and women’s empowerment, facilitated student visits to 16 villages. A total of 534 students, including international participants, engaged in this initiative, gaining deeper insights into rural life, its challenges, and the scope for sustainable interventions.

Through this immersive experience, students focused on key thematic areas such as:
Health & Nutrition
Education
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
Agriculture & Livestock
Livelihood & Entrepreneurship

Identifying hurdles in these domains allowed students to propose community-driven solutions, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world rural challenges.

Recognizing Impactful Initiatives
A key highlight of the Reflection Day was the recognition of three outstanding teams for their innovative contributions to rural problem-solving:
1st Place: Samauddinpur Group 9
2nd Place: Kalonda Group 1
3rd Place: Beel Akbarpur Group 13

Leadership Perspective on the Initiative

Speaking at the event, Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director, BIMTECH, expressed her enthusiasm: “Building on the success of previous editions, we are thrilled to provide our students with this unique experiential learning opportunity. The Rural Immersion Program not only strengthens collaborations with development organizations but also instills a sense of social responsibility in future business leaders. Our goal is to merge academics with real-world applications for meaningful impact.”

Driving Policy and Future Action
The findings and recommendations gathered from this initiative will be shared with NGOs, policymakers, and industry forums for potential implementation. Additionally, a reflection session will be held with village leaders, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and women representatives to further discuss and refine solutions.

BIMTECH’s Commitment to Holistic Education
Inspired by its founders Late Basant Kumar Birla and Sarala Birla, BIMTECH has pioneered innovative management programs such as PGDM, PGDM-International Business (IB), PGDM-Retail Management (RM), and PGDM-Insurance Business Management (IBM). With AACSB accreditation, the institute now ranks among the top globally recognized B-schools, strengthening its legacy of excellence in education and social impact.

By integrating rural immersion into its academic curriculum, BIMTECH continues to foster socially responsible leadership, ensuring that management education extends beyond classrooms into real-world impact zones, the institute said.
