BPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 1711 Assistant Professor posts in medical colleges and hospitals across Bihar. The vacancies are specifically for various departments within the state health services, aimed at strengthening the faculty base in these institutions. These positions will be filled based on the candidates’ qualifications and work experience, as there will be no written examination for selection.

Qualifications and eligibility criteria
To apply for the Assistant Professor posts, candidates must have an MD/MS/DNB/MDS degree in the relevant field. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of teaching experience as a senior resident or tutor in a medical college or hospital. This experience must be recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Candidates who are part of the Bihar Health Services cadre and have completed their postgraduate degree in the relevant field, followed by the required teaching experience, are also eligible for the position.
Age limit and pay scale
The age limit for applicants is 48 years for both unreserved and reserved categories. Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of 15600-39100, along with a Grade Pay of 6600.
Selection process
BPSC will not conduct a written examination for the Assistant Professor recruitment. Instead, candidates will be selected based on a merit list compiled from the following factors:
• Marks obtained in MBBS/BDS
• Marks obtained in MD/MS/MDS, PhD, MCH, and DNB (Superspeciality)
• Work experience in the government sector (maximum 10 marks)
• Interview marks (maximum 6 marks)
