BPSC 70th Prelims: The protest by aspirants against the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) reached its 45th day on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Candidates continued their demonstration, accusing the Commission of a paper leak during the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) in 2022 and demanding a re-examination.
For over a month, candidates have been protesting against the BPSC, citing irregularities in the exam and calling for its cancellation. However, the Commission has denied all allegations of a paper leak and has stated that the 70th BPSC Prelims will not be cancelled.
The 70th BPSC Prelims was conducted on December 13, 2024. However, the exam was cancelled for the Bapu Pariksha Parisar exam centre in Patna due to protests that erupted over an alleged question paper leak. One official on duty at the examination centre also died of a heart attack during the ruckus created by a section of the candidates.
The BPSC announced a re-examination for the candidates who appeared for the 70th BPSC Prelims in the Bapu Pariksha Parisar exam centre. The BPSC also served show cause notices to 34 aspirants, who were allegedly part of the disruption created at Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre on December 13.
The re-exam was conducted on January 4, 2025 and the Commission declared the results for the 70th BPSC Prelims exam on January 23, 2025 amid massive protests across the state over alleged irregularities.
BSPC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh told reporters on Friday that out of 3,28, 990 candidates who had appeared in the examination, 21,581 aspirants have cleared the CCE’s preliminary test. While 1,409 candidates scored negative marks, only one candidate could score a maximum of 120 marks out of 150. There are a total of 1,181 candidates who scored more than 100 marks, and 6,344 scored between 90 to 100 marks.
