In Patna, BPSC aspirants are continuing their protest, demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th CCE Exam. They have accused the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) of irregularities in the 70th Combined Competitive Examination. However, the commission has remained firm on conducting the exam without delay. Speaking to reporters on Friday, BPSC’s Examination Controller, Rajesh Kumar Singh, confirmed that the exam will not be cancelled under any circumstances.
Amidst the candidates’ protests, Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed the media, reiterating that the BPSC will not cancel the 70th Combined Preliminary Exam. He also announced that the main exam will be held in April. He advised candidates to focus on preparing for the mains exam instead of continuing their protests.
He also said that the commission is committed to conducting the exam with complete transparency and fairness.
“Protesters Being Influenced By External Factors”
When asked about the candidates’ protests, the Examination Controller said that only a few candidates are opposing the exam. He claimed that the protesting candidates are making baseless allegations and have no solid evidence. He added that the commission has been receiving continuous emails from other candidates, assuring that no irregularities took place in the exam. Singh further mentioned that the protesters are being influenced by external factors.
Khan Sir Faces Backlash From Students
Educator and YouTuber Khan Sir joined the protesting BPSC candidates in Patna, demanding a re-examination. He criticised the commission, claiming that the exam was too easy and questioning why crucial evidence, like CCTV footage, was hidden.
“Why did the commission hide the evidence and CCTV footage? Many things have come out which are a matter of investigation… We will go to the Supreme Court, we will even tell the President what is happening in Bihar… First, the country’s GDP fell, then the bridge in Bihar collapsed, and now BPSC has collapsed,” Khan Sir stated.
However, his involvement led to criticism from students, who felt that Khan Sir and Rahman Sir had shifted the protest’s focus from student concerns to their political interests. They demanded the educators to leave, accusing them of hijacking the movement.
Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj met the protesting students and condemned the police’s use of force against them. He expressed his solidarity with the students, stating that he would stand by them as long as they continued to protest. Kishor said that the students right to protest should be respected.
The protests began after rumours of a paper leak during the 70th BPSC exam, held on December 13 at the Bapu Bhavan exam centre in Patna. Although BPSC dismissed the claims as baseless and ordered a re-examination, students continued to demand the cancellation of the exam and vowed to persist with their protests.
