Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya outperformed Kendriya Vidyalaya again in CBSE 2025 results

CBSE Board Results 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the results for both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. As always, attention was drawn to the performance of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), two of the country’s premier school networks known for their academic excellence and healthy rivalry.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Maintains Lead Over Kendriya Vidyalaya

In the 2025 CBSE results, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya once again edged ahead of Kendriya Vidyalaya in both Class 10 and 12 results.

Class 12 Pass Percentage:

• Navodaya Vidyalaya: 99.29%
• Kendriya Vidyalaya: 99.05%

Class 10 Pass Percentage:

• Navodaya Vidyalaya: 99.49%
• Kendriya Vidyalaya: 99.45%

This marks the second consecutive year that Navodaya has outperformed Kendriya Vidyalaya. In 2024, JNV had a Class 12 pass percentage of 98.90%, compared to KV’s 98.81%.

Government vs Private School Performance

According to the CBSE press release, government and government-aided schools delivered varied results:

• STSS Schools: 98% pass rate
• Government-Aided Schools: 91.57%
• Government Schools: 90.48%
• Private Schools: Lowest among all, with 87.94% pass rate(/li>

In Class 10, the results were slightly different:

• Private Schools: 94.17%
• Government Schools: 89.26%
• STSS Schools: 91.53%
• Government-Recognised Schools: 83.94%

Region-Wise Performance

Among all CBSE regions, Vijayawada emerged as the top performer in Class 12 results with an impressive 99.60% pass rate. It was followed by:

• Trivandrum: 99.32%
• Chennai: 97.39%
• Bengaluru: 95.95%
• Delhi West: 95.37%
