The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin the Class 10 and 12 final examinations on 15 February 2025. On the first day, Class 10 students will take their English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) exams, while Class 12 students will appear for the Entrepreneurship paper. The exams will be conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
This year, around 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad will appear for the board exams. To ensure smooth and fair conduct, CBSE has issued important instructions regarding the dress code, permitted and prohibited items, and exam ethics.
Dress Code Guidelines
- Regular Students: Must wear their school uniform.
- Private Candidates: Should wear light-coloured clothing without heavy designs or large buttons. Full-sleeved clothing is not advised to ensure transparency. Students are encouraged to wear simple footwear like sandals instead of shoes.

- Regular Students: School identity card and admit card.
- Private Candidates: Admit card and a valid photo ID.
- Stationery: Transparent pouch with essential items like a pencil, scale, eraser, writing pad, and pen (blue or royal blue ink, ballpoint, or gel pen).
- A transparent water bottle.
- Metro card, bus pass, or money for travel.
- Calculators for students with learning disabilities (e.g., dyscalculia), which must be obtained from the exam centre.
Prohibited Items
Students must not carry the following items inside the exam hall:
- Unauthorised Stationery: Printed or written materials, notes, log tables (except those provided by the centre), electronic pens, scanners, and pen drives.
- Electronic Devices: Smartphones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earbuds, microphones, pagers, and cameras.

Possession of any prohibited item will be considered an unfair means (UFM) and may lead to strict action as per CBSE guidelines.
Students appearing for the CBSE Board Exams 2025 must carefully follow these rules to maintain fairness and discipline. Adhering to these guidelines will help ensure a smooth exam experience and reflect their integrity at this crucial academic stage.
