CBSE Class 10 English Paper Analysis: The CBSE Class 10 English Language and Literature paper, held on February 15, 2025, received positive feedback from both students and teachers. The paper was described as well-balanced, featuring a mix of inference-based and recall questions. Students found it easy to understand and manageable to attempt, which helped them approach the exam with confidence.

Sana Sahrawat, a Grade 10 student at Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, shared her satisfaction with the exam, saying, “I am really happy with my paper. The extrapolatory long-answer questions were good. I could attempt them well.” Her words echoed the sentiment of many students who felt prepared for the exam due to rigorous revision and practice.

Sreelekha Sarcar, the Head of the English Department at Shiv Nadar School, also commended the structure of the paper. She noted, “It was a good balance of higher-order thinking skills and recall questions. Students were ecstatic when they came out of the exam hall.” This well-thought-out approach to the exam allowed students to showcase both their critical thinking and recall abilities.

Sunita Virmani, TGT English, Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida said that while the exam was considered slightly lengthy, students managed their time effectively. “Our students were able to tackle it with ease and a positive attitude,” one teacher said. The writing and literature sections were straightforward, aligning well with the syllabus prescribed by CBSE, which contributed to the student’s preparedness.

The grammar section was another area where students found comfort, with many stating that their practice during revision classes made the section easy to navigate. “All the students were able to complete the paper on time and attempt all the questions with ease and accuracy,” Virmani added.

In 2025, a total of 42,00,237 students are set to appear for the CBSE Board exams, reflecting an increase of 3,14,695 students from the previous year, which had a total of 38,85,542 candidates. Among them, 24,12,072 are Class 10 students, while 17,88,165 are from Class 12. The exams will be conducted across 7,842 examination centres.

“The CBSEboardexamsfor Classes 10 and 12 have started. Today, the Class 10 English and Class 12 Entrepreneurship exams were held. The Class 10 exam took place at 7,780 centres, with over 23.86 lakh students appearing, while the Class 12 exam was conducted at 995 centres with around 23,000 students. The exams were organized smoothly. I hope all students reached their exam centres with enthusiasm and were able to take them in a positive environment,” Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, CBSE, stated.
