The question paper was allocated 70 marks and included 30% internal choices, facilitating a degree of flexibility for students. The direct questions were quite easy to answer. The competency-based questions were average. Students were able to attempt the paper in time. This alignment with sample papers provided a sense of familiarity, aiding students in their preparation.
CBSE Class 12 Biology Exam 2025: Section-wise analysis by subject experts
The examination comprised various sections, each designed to evaluate different aspects of the syllabus. Section A featured multiple-choice questions (MCQs) that tested a range of abilities from basic understanding to higher-order thinking skills. Shalini Almadi, PGT Biology at Vidyagyan School, Bulandshahr, noted, “Section A, comprising MCQs, was a good mix of understanding, application and HOTS questions. Q5 was a kind of question, rarely asked, made it evident that this year’s paper covered every nook and corner of the syllabus.” This comprehensive approach ensured thorough coverage of the curriculum.
In Section C, which included more detailed, subjective questions, some items required critical thinking and close analysis. Swati Trivedi, PGT Biology at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, observed, “Question number 24 in Section C was slightly tricky.” However, she also mentioned that “The case-study based questions in Section D shouldn’t have posed challenge to students who were well prepared.” This suggests that while certain questions demanded deeper analysis, they remained approachable for diligent students.
