CBSE 12th Results 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded the Class 12 Board Exams for the academic session 2024–25 today, April 4. According to reports, over 17 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exams this year. The exams were conducted for 120 subjects across various streams including Science, Commerce, and Humanities.
The CBSE class 12 board exams for arts stream subjects, including history and political science, were largely considered moderate in difficulty and aligned closely with the NCERT syllabus. Experts noted a focus on concept clarity and familiarity with previous years’ patterns.
Similarly, in the Science stream, the CBSE class 12 biology exam was reported to be of moderate difficulty, integrating conceptual and application-based questions that thoroughly covered the entire syllabus. Following these lines, the computer science paper followed a balanced structure with theoretical, conceptual, and practical components. While most students found it manageable, some faced difficulty with programming and SQL-based questions.
The Commerce stream examinations, including accountancy and economics, maintained a moderate difficulty level as well and were in strict accordance with the prescribed CBSE syllabus. Both papers offered a fair measure of students’ analytical abilities and critical thinking.
CBSE class 12th result 2025 expected in May
CBSE is now gearing up for the result compilation process. In line with past trends, the CBSE Class 12 results are expected to be announced in May 2025. The board typically releases Class 10 and 12 results on the same day. Students are advised to regularly visit the official CBSE websites at cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in, to stay updated on announcements related to result declaration.
Over the last three years, the board has released Class 12 results around mid-May. In 2024, the result was declared on May 13, while in 2023, it was announced on May 12. An exception was in 2022 when the results were declared relatively late, on July 22, due to pandemic-related disruptions.
CBSE class 12th result 2025: How did students perform in the previous year?
In 2024, 16.6 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 exams out of the 16.8 lakh who had registered. A total of 14.5 lakh students successfully cleared the examination, taking the overall pass percentage to 87.33%.

Trivandrum district emerged as the best-performing region with a remarkable pass percentage of 99.91%. Gender-wise, girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 90.68%, while boys recorded 84.67%. The pass percentage among transgender students stood at 60%. Additionally, around 1.25 lakh candidates were placed in the compartment category.
