CBSE 12th Result 2025: Passing Marks, Grading System

A student must secure a minimum of 26 marks out of 80 to pass the theory examination of particular subjects in the CBSE class 12 results 2025. Along with this, a student must secure 33 percent in each subject (theory and practical) to pass the examination. To calculate the pass percentage, students need to add the marks they have secured in all five subjects. Then divide the total marks by 500 and then multiply by 100 to get the pass percentage.

The CBSE works with a 9-point grading system (from A1 to E) depending on the numbers scored by each candidate. A1 is the highest grade achievable while grade E will be given to the students who fail the exam. The top 1/8th passed candidates will be awarded Grade A1, similarly the next 1/8th grade A2. Grades B1 and B2 will be awarded to the subsequent 1/8th passed candidates. Just like that, C1-C2-D1-D2 grades will be given to the following 1/8th passed candidates. Grade E will be given to those who fail the exam.
