GUWAHATI: Northeast schools have shown remarkable performance in the ICSE and ISC examinations, with Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur each achieving 100 pass percentage in ISC (class XII), while in ICSE (class X) the results of the NE states have remained above 98 percent. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced the results for both examinations at the same time, on Wednesday.
Assam schools reported a pass percentage of 99.81% in ICSE. In Assam, 526 candidates appeared for ICSE, and 238 candidates appeared for ISC. In ICSE, girls surpassed boys with a perfect pass percentage of 100, while boys attained a pass percentage of 99.66%.
The Assam Valley School in Sonitpur and Sanskriti The Gurukul in Guwahati stand out as prominent institutions in the state, with students achieving outstanding results. At Assam Valley School, the 2025 ISC batch aggregate (English + Best 3) stood at 83.75%. In Humanities, Aayat Hazarika (99.25%) emerged as the school topper, while in Science Anoushka Singh (97.50%) and Anushka Jitani (97.50%) shared the top position. In Commerce, Dhani Poddar (96.50%) led the school. Nearly Perfect Scores (99%) were achieved by 12 students in ISC exam from the school.
For ICSE at Assam Valley School, the batch aggregate (English + Best 4) was 84.36%, with Agnivh Prakash Bora (97.20%) securing the position of school topper. A total of 21 students attained Nearly Perfect Scores (99%) in ICSE.
At Sanskriti The Gurukul, Mridusmit Maharsi (99 percent) was the leading scorer in ICSE, and the school average for the examination stood at 91.03 percent. Ten students scored 97 percent and above in ICSE at this leading city school. In ISC, Sanya Agarwal topped the school with 98 percent, while the school maintained an average of 89.2 percent; six students scored 97 percent and above.
From Arunachal Pradesh, 774 candidates appeared in ICSE and 56 candidates in ISC. The ICSE pass percentage for Arunachal Pradesh was 98.19%. In ICSE, girls performed better than boys, achieving a pass percentage of 98.86%, while boys reached 97.64%.
In Meghalaya, 547 candidates sat for ICSE and 125 for ISC. Boys held a slight edge over girls with a pass percentage of 99.15%, compared to 99.04% for girls.
In Manipur, 18 students took ICSE and 21 appeared in ISC, with both examinations seeing a perfect 100 percent pass rate in the state.
Nagaland had 142 ICSE and 39 ISC candidates, and achieved a 100 percent pass rate in both examinations.
From Tripura, 542 students participated in ICSE and 577 in ISC, which is the highest turnout among the seven northeastern states. In Tripura, the ICSE pass percentage was 96.31%, while ISC’s was 95.32%. In ICSE, boys outperformed girls with a pass rate of 96.48%, compared to 96.12% for girls. In ISC, girls outshone boys, recording a pass percentage of 97.64% compared to 93.50% for boys.
