From CBSE’s scholarship for female students to the government’s post-matric scholarship scheme, here are the top five options that school-going kids can avail

Several scholarships are offered by the government and education boards for meritorious students across ages. Today we look at the scholarships that are available for students who are set to take admission to class 11 or class 12. From CBSE’s scholarship for female students to the government’s post-matric scholarship scheme, here are the top five options that school-going kids can avail:

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship

Under this scheme, girl students who are the only child of their parents and have passed the Class 10 exam with at least 70% marks are awarded Rs 1000 per month. The scholarship is provided for up to two years. The scholarship will be awarded based on merit, as determined by the CBSE Class X Examination results. The tuition fee for these students must not exceed Rs. 2,500 per month during the academic year for Classes XI and XII. The scholarship is open only to Indian nationals. Only students who have passed the CBSE Class X Examination in 2024 are eligible. Students from families with a gross annual income of up to Rs. 8 lakh are eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship will be renewed for one year upon successful completion of Class 11.

Bihar Labour Card Scholarship

This scheme was launched by the government of Bihar for the students of the working class. As per this scheme, the children of labour card holders (which is issued by the Bihar government) will be provided scholarships for further studies, after they have passed the 10th standard. The students have to score at least 60 per cent in their Bihar Board matric examination to avail of this scheme. The scholarship money ranges from Rs 10000 to Rs 24000.

UP Post Matric Scholarship Scheme

To be eligible for this scholarship scheme, candidates must be residents of Uttar Pradesh. The annual household income for General, OBC, and minority category students must not exceed Rs 2 lakh and for SC and ST, it must not cross Rs 2.5 lakh. Children would need a valid caste certificate and Aadhar card to apply for this scholarship programme.

Post Matric Scholarship for BC/EBC Category of Bihar

This scholarship is provided by the Bihar Government Education Department to students belonging to the BC (Backward Caste) and EBC (Economic Backward Caste) categories. The students should be enrolled in any post-matric course in a relevant institution in Bihar. The students can enjoy benefits like maintenance allowance, non-refundable fees, thesis typing and book allowance, while the differently abled are provided with an additional allowance for each year. The students can avail Rs 15,000.

PM Yasasvi Scholarship

The PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme or YASASVI formulated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) of the Government of India provides scholarships to students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, including De-notified Tribes (DNT). To qualify for the scholarship, the annual income of a student’s parents or guardians must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakhs. Students must be enrolled in government schools
