Voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections has started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm. The results will be declared on Saturday, February 8. On this important day, several institutions and establishments in Delhi will remain closed, while some will continue to function.

All schools and colleges, whether public or private, will be closed since many of them are being used as polling stations.

The closure of schools and colleges is intended to ensure smooth voting without any disruptions. Educational institutions serving as polling stations may also remain closed a day before the election, following usual practices.

Jamia Millia Islamia has declared a two-day holiday for its Middle School due to the elections. As per an official statement, both students and staff will have leave on February 4 and 5 to facilitate election preparations. The notice also mentions that the school premises will be handed over to the authorities for polling arrangements.

Schools Closed In These Districts Of UP

The Mahakumbh Mela 2025 is being organised in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, attracting millions of devotees from across the country. Keeping children’s safety and comfort in mind amid the large crowds, schools in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Sultanpur have been ordered to remain closed until February 5, 2025. These schools will reopen on February 6, 2025 (Thursday). Students can also check with their schools for holiday updates.

In these districts, schools have been closed since February 3, 2025. On February 3, due to the Amrit Snan at the Mahakumbh, there was a massive gathering in Prayagraj and nearby areas, prompting authorities to declare holidays in schools.
