The School Education Department of Rajasthan has launched an initiative called ‘Dial Future’ to enhance the future prospects of approximately 900,000 school children in the state. As part of this program, career counseling will be provided to students who have completed their 10th grade in government higher secondary schools.
The teachers responsible for guiding students in shaping their future will be known as ‘pathfinder teachers‘.
In an exclusive conversation with ETGovernment, Naveen Jain, Secretary, Department of School Education, Government of Rajasthan, informed that the Dial Future programme aims to assist students in selecting desired academic streams and exploring career options.
The programme will utilize various mediums, including phone counseling through 20 designated numbers, informative videos on YouTube, and a dedicated help desk, to ensure comprehensive guidance for the students.
Jain emphasised on the significance of subject selection after 10th grade, as this plays a vital role in determining a student’s future. In addition to facilitating faculty selection, the programme will provide information about nearby schools.
The Dial Future programme is the outcome of collaborative efforts from the Directorate of Secondary Education, Bikaner, and the Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCERT), Udaipur. The Education Department’s officials, staff, and teachers have actively participated in this endeavor to illuminate the career paths of approximately 900,000 students in the current academic session.
Jain said that he was convinced that the Dial Future programme will aid students in making informed decisions regarding faculty selection and pursuit of their professional ambitions.
About the Dial Future Initiative:
Under this programme, one teacher each from the senior secondary schools in all districts provides counselling after attending an orientation programme on the basis of a module prepared by the experts. Designated as the guide, he counsels the students who have completed their 10th grade, assisting them in faculty selection and career exploration.
Furthermore, the state has established 20 help desks divided into four zones: Jaipur Zone (Jaipur and Bharatpur Divisions), Kota Zone (Kota and Udaipur Divisions), Jodhpur Zone (Jodhpur and Pali Divisions), and Bikaner Zone (Bikaner, Churu, and Ajmer Divisions). The help desk numbers range from 9773319741 to 9773319760.
