A school principal in UP allegedly slapped a girl, causing vision loss; authorities are investigating while her mother seeks urgent medical help.

In a shocking incident, a principal of a school in Uttar Pradesh allegedly slapped a girl, after which she reportedly lost her vision. The incident took place a month ago, and since then, the seven-year-old has been undergoing treatment.

She was initially admitted to a hospital in Moradabad, but as her condition worsened, she was referred to AIIMS Delhi for advanced medical care. However, due to the long waiting period at AIIMS, the student’s mother, Jyoti Kashyap, approached Moradabad District Magistrate Anuj Singh, seeking his intervention and assistance in expediting her daughter’s treatment.

The mother has also urged authorities to take action against the school principal, whom she holds responsible for her daughter’s condition.

Following her complaint, Moradabad Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Vimlesh Kumar, initiated a formal probe into the incident. As per a report by The Times of India (TOI), preliminary investigations suggest that the child had a pre-existing eye condition, which may have worsened after the alleged assault.

However, a detailed inquiry is still pending, and officials are yet to determine the exact cause of her sudden loss of vision.

“The principal slapped my daughter on her face, causing her severe discomfort and subsequent blindness,” Kashyap told TOI.

She added, “She was being treated in Moradabad, but as her condition worsened, she was referred to AIIMS Delhi. However, the waiting time there was too long.”

She further alleged that when she confronted the principal about the incident, she too was physically manhandled. The case has sparked outrage, with many demanding strict action against the accused principal. Authorities are expected to provide further updates once the investigation is complete.
