The University of Delhi (DU) has updated the program-specific eligibility criteria for admission to BA (Hons) English through CUET UG 2025. As per the revised criteria, candidates must appear for the English paper in CUET 2025 along with any three domain-specific subjects from ‘List B.’ This change has been outlined in the DU admission brochure for the 2025 academic session.
Delhi University will admit students to its undergraduate programs based on CUET UG scores, except for the School of Open Learning (SOL), Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB), and foreign applicants. The updated eligibility criteria have been published on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal at admission.uod.ac.in.
DU BA (Hons) English admission 2025: Eligibility criteria
Candidates must appear in one of the following subject combinations for CUET 2025:
- Combination 1 – English (List A) + Any three subjects from List B
- Combination 2 – English and one additional language from List A + Any two subjects from List B
The final merit list will be determined based on the highest CUET score obtained from these combinations.
DU UG Admissions 2025: Changes in subject lists
DU has revised the domain-specific subject list for undergraduate admissions. Subjects are divided into:
- List A (14 language subjects) – Includes English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Urdu, and others.
- List B (22 domain-specific subjects) – Includes subjects like Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, History, and Sociology.
Additionally, five subjects—Legal Studies, Engineering Graphics, Teacher Training, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge Tradition & Practices of India—have been removed from List B.

BA (Hons) English seat matrix at DU Colleges
Delhi University has notified the availability of BA (Hons) English seats across 47 colleges. Aryabhatta College’s seat details are yet to be announced. The category-wise seat distribution varies across colleges, including institutions like Hindu College, Hansraj College, St. Stephen’s College, and Miranda House.
Candidates are advised to carefully review the new eligibility criteria and subject requirements before applying for BA (Hons) English at DU for the 2025-26 academic session.
