In the Union Education Budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that 10,000 seats will be added across medical colleges next year. During the Interim Budget 2024, the government had said that it will set up more medical colleges under the existing hospital infrastructure to accommodate more students in the highly competitive MBBS stream. “Several youths are ambitious to get qualified as doctors. They aim to serve our people through improved healthcare services,” she pointed out.

As per the budget, government schools will be provided broadband connectivity.
