The GATE cut-off is announced separately for each category: General, OBC-NCL/EWS, and SC/ST/PwD. The official GATE 2025 cut-off will be published along with the results on March 19, 2025. Based on previous trends, the GATE 2025 cut-off is expected to increase for most subjects this year.
GATE 2025: Previous Year Cut-Offs
The cut-offs for several GATE subjects saw significant changes between 2023 and 2024, reflecting variations in competition, exam difficulty, and demand. Aerospace Engineering (AE) experienced a notable increase in the cut-off, rising from 25.1 in 2023 to 33.3 in 2024. In contrast, Chemical Engineering (CH) saw a sharp decrease, with the cut-off dropping from 32.1 in 2023 to 25 in 2024.
Other significant changes include Production and Industrial Engineering (PI), where the cut-off fell from 44.2 to 30.5. Additionally, Humanities and Social Sciences (Economics) (XH-C1) saw a considerable drop in the cut-off, decreasing from 47.3 to 37, which could be attributed to a reduction in candidate interest or a shift in exam difficulty.
