GSEB HSC Results 2025: Science, Commerce, Arts results declared; 93.07% pass

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gujarat (GSEB) announced GSEB HSC Science, Commerce and Arts streams results. Students can check their scorecards at the official website – gseb.org. This year, 93.07 per cent of students passed their HSC exam. The pass percentage is higher than the previous year’s 91.93 per cent.

This year’s Class 12 board results under the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) reflect a mixed pattern of progress and concern.

In the Science stream, the overall pass percentage saw a marginal increase — from 82.45% in 2024 to 83.51% in 2025. Boys recorded a slightly higher pass percentage at 83.79%, while girls stood at 83.2%.

Out of 1,00,575 candidates who appeared for the February-March GSHSEB Science exams, the number of students achieving top grades declined. The count of students securing A1 grades fell from 1,034 in 2024 to 831 in 2025, and A2 grades declined from 8,983 to 8,083.

Meanwhile, the General stream results presented a more encouraging picture, with the pass percentage rising from 91.93% in 2024 to 93.07% in 2025. Of the 3,62,506 students who appeared, 3,37,387 have qualified for the pass certificate.

At the institutional level, both high and low performing schools saw a rise in numbers. Schools with a 100% pass rate in the Science stream increased from 127 last year to 194 this year, while those with less than 10% pass rate also went up from 27 to 34. Similarly, in the General stream, schools with a 100% result jumped from 1,609 to 2,005, whereas schools with less than 10% pass rate increased slightly from 19 to 21.

GSEB board conducted the Class 12 board exams for the science and general streams between February 27 and March 10. 

To collect the Gujarat board HSC Class 12 science stream original mark sheets, students are required to visit their respective schools a few days after the result declaration. The hard copies of the marksheets will be provided by the board to the schools within a few days.

In 2024, the Gujarat board announced the Class 12 result for all streams on May 9. The GSEB Class 12 Science stream exams last year were held between March 11 and March 22.

The pass percentage last year saw a big increase from that in 2023. The overall pass percentage last year in science stream was 82.45 per cent.  In 2023 the overall pass percentage in science stream was 65.58%.

A total of 1,31,849 students had registered for the Gujarat board Class 12 science stream exam in 2024. Out of the total registered students, 1,30,650 appeared for the exam, and 91,625 qualified the exam. The boys had outperformed the girls in the Science stream by a narrow margin. The girls scored an overall pass percentage of 82.35 per cent, while boys scored 83.53 per cent. 

To pass the Gujarat Board Class 12 Science exam, students need to secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject. Also, they must obtain a minimum grade of ‘D’ in all subjects. If a student fails in one or more subjects, they can appear for a supplementary exam conducted by the board. Students who are unsatisfied with their marks  have the option to apply online for rechecking through the official website.
