AHMEDABAD: The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) on Tuesday announced that at the end of the second round of admissions in undergraduate medical and dental courses, 663 seats have remained vacant. The committee said that in the MBBS course 6,336 students have confirmed their admissions on a total of 6,573 allotted seats so far and 237 seats have remained vacant as students did not confirm their admissions.
In the BDS course, the committee allotted 1,119 seats to students, and 693 of them confirmed their admissions by paying tuition fees. The remaining 426 seats have remained vacant due to nonreporting.
The committee statement said that the security deposits of these 663 students have been forfeited and if they wish to participate in the further admission rounds they will have to pay Rs 11,000 as registration fees.
The committee said that the third round of admission will begin from September 6 and will end on September 11. Students who wish to participate in the third round will have to procure their pins online and register during the September 6-10 period. The committee said that the students will have to get their original documents verified at help centres during the September 6-11 period.
