The Ahmedabad DEO’s office has written to the state health department to deploy health staff at examination centres so that they can attend to any medical emergencies during the exam. There will be one health centre for every two or three exam centres.
AHMEDABAD: The final exams for Classes 10 and 12 will begin today and will conclude on March 29. As per the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) figures, 16.49 lakh students will be taking Class 10 and 12 exams this year. The board will conduct exams at 1,763 examination centres which include 5,541 buildings and 56,633 classrooms.
Board data shows that a total of 1.26 lakh Class 12 science stream students have registered for the exams this year. In 2022 1.07 lakh students had registered for exams.
As per board data, registrations in the Class 12 science stream had fallen for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022 as compared to previous years. However, this year registrations have normalised.
Board figures show that 9.56 lakh Class 10 students have registered for exams this year which is 77,000 less than the previous year. For Class 12 general stream exams, 5,65 lakh students have registered this year.
The statement from the board said that this year 157 prison inmates will take exams including 101 for Class 10 and 56 inmates who will take Class 12 exams.
Board data showed that 1,91,199 students have registered from both standards which are higher by 17,996 as compared to the previous year’s registration. These students are from 634 schools in Ahmedabad city and rural.
Board data showed that 1.09 lakh students have registered from Ahmedabad city, including 61,474 of Class 10, 38,391 students from the Class 12 general stream and 9,420 students from the Class 12 science stream. The board said that there are 370 exam centres in Ahmedabad city.
In Ahmedabad rural, 81,913 students have been registered that include 47,399 Class 10 students, 28,289 Class 12 general stream students and 6,255 Class 12 science stream students.
