The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has started the registration process for HP Administrative Service Mains examination 2023.
Candidates who appeared for the preliminary round and have qualified to appear in the Main examination, can apply for the Mains examination round on the official website of HPPSC at- http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/.
Eligible candidates will be able to apply for the Mains exam till November 14, 2023.
The HPPSC earlier released the Result for the HPAS preliminary exam 2023, which mentioned the roll numbers of the qualifying candidates.
According to the notice, candidates who qualify the preliminary round, are required to apply afresh for the Mains round.
The Mains examination is scheduled for December 13, 2023. Regarding release of scores and cut off marks, the notification says, “The candidates are also informed that marks, cut off marks of HPAS Examination-2023 will be uploaded on the Commission’s website, only after the entire process of the Examination is over, i.e. after the declaration of final result.”
The HPPSC HPAS prelims exam 2023 was held on October 1, 2023. The exam was originally scheduled to be held on August 27, 2023, but was postponed due to widespread damage to roads caused by heavy rainfall and poor weather in the state.
HPPSC HPAS 2023 exam pattern
The HPPSC HPAS Mains examination pattern consists of various subjects, each assigned a specific paper and marks allocation.
The subjects and corresponding marks are as follows: English (I) for 200 marks
Hindi (II) for 200 marks, Essay (III) for 200 marks, General Studies I (IV) for 200 marks, General Studies II (V) for 200 marks, General Studies III (VI) for 200 marks, Optional Subject I (VII) for 200 marks, and
Optional Subject II (VIII) for 200 marks, amounting to a total of 1400 marks.
The General Studies papers encompass a diverse array of topics, including Indian history, culture, polity, economy, geography, and current events. As for the Optional Subjects, candidates can choose from a list of 25 subjects, such as Agriculture, Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, Engineering, English Literature, Geography, Geology, History, Hindi Literature, Law, Mathematics, Management Studies, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Punjabi Literature, Sanskrit Literature, Sociology, Statistics, and Zoology, along with any other subject notified by the Commission. The examination will be conducted in both English and Hindi, with each paper allotted a duration of 3 hours.
