HS Result 2025 West Bengal (Link Active): 90.79% students pass, boys outperform girls

This year, a total of 4,82,948 students registered for the WBCHSE Higher Secondary exam, out of which 4,73,919 appeared for the examination. Out of these 4.73 lakh students who appeared for the WBCHSE Higher Secondary exam this year, 4,30,286 have passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 90.79%, a slight increase from last year’s 90%.

This year, Science recorded a pass percentage of 99.46%, followed by Commerce with 97.52%, and Arts with 88.25%. The consistently high success rate in the Science stream highlights its continued academic strength in the Higher Secondary examinations.

This year, the exams were held from March 3 to March 18, 2025. Held across 2,089 exam centres in the state, over five lakh candidates appeared for WBCHSE 2025 board exams

This year, boys outperformed girls in the WBCHSE Higher Secondary exam with a pass percentage of 92.38%, while 88.18% of girls cleared the exam.

Top Performing Districts:

Purba Medinipur: 95.74%

North 24 Parganas: 93.53%

Kolkata: 93.43%

Students will be able to check their scorecards from the official websites –wbchse.wb.gov.in and wbresults.nic.in. Candidates can check their results on the WBCHSE official website by navigating to the WB board 12th result on the home page, then logging in using their necessary credentials, such as roll number and application number, mentioned in their admit card.

The WB HS mark sheet mentions the marks scored by students in different subjects. Students must note that the scorecard will be provisional. Hence, the students need to collect the original mark sheets from their respective schools.  

With over 5.09 lakh candidates who appeared for the higher secondary examinations, a majority of them were girls.  Last year, 7.9 lakh candidates took the Class 12 examinations. The board exams were scheduled from March 3-18, and were held at 2,089 exam centres across the state. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education exam began at 10 am and concluded at 1:15 pm. 

Last year, the results were announced on May 8 at wbresults.nic.in. There were 7,55,324 regular candidates who appeared in WBCHSE board examinations. In the results, East Midnapore topped among all the districts and emerged as the best performing district of the state. The overall pass percentage last year was 90 per cent for all the streams combined. Abhik Das from Hooghly secured the top position with an outstanding score of 99.2 per cent. In 2023, the West Bengal state board results were announced on May 24. The WB HS results were declared in record 57 days, as claimed by WBCHSE officials. The pass percentage was 89.25%.

Students with compartment in subjects can appear for supplementary examinations, whose date and schedule will be announced later.
