The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will conduct the CA final exam thrice a year. Previously, this examination was conducted twice a year. All three levels—CA Final, Intermediate, and Foundation—will now have an equal number of attempts each year, the institute said.

Last year, ICAI decided to hold the Intermediate and Foundation course exams three times a year, and now the CA Final exams will follow the same schedule. These exams will take place in January, May, and September.

“In order to align with global best practices and provide students with greater opportunities, the 26th Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has taken a historic decision to hold the CA Final exam three times a year. This examination was being held twice a year. Last year, ICAI took a decision to hold the Intermediate and Foundation course exams three times a year and now the CA Final exams will follow suit,” reads the official notice.

Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit Exams Also Thrice A Year

The Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit will also see a change. Previously conducted twice a year in June and December, the Assessment Test for this course will now be held three times a year—in February, June, and October. The decision has been taken to increase access and convenience for members, ICAI said.
