IIFT to open its first overseas campus in Dubai

The decision to set up a full-fledged overseas centre in Dubai has received formal clearances from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

IIFT offers a range of programmes, including its flagship MBA in International Business, an MA in Economics with a specialisation in Trade and Finance, Executive Diploma programmes for working professionals, and doctoral research opportunities. Admission to these courses is primarily based on competitive entrance exams like the IIFT MBA entrance test, followed by group discussions and personal interviews.

With the Dubai campus, IIFT aims to provide the same academic rigour and research focus to a wider international audience. The new facility is expected to cater to both global learners and the Indian diaspora in the Gulf region, as per a statement by the Ministry.

In a statement, Vice Chancellor Prof Rakesh Mohan Joshi expressed confidence that the Dubai campus will uphold IIFT’s academic values while creating a centre of excellence in international business education. He noted that the institute’s expansion aligns with India’s broader goal of combining education with strategic diplomacy.

The Dubai campus is expected to begin operations soon and will offer both full-time and executive education programmes tailored for the region’s market dynamics and global business environment.
