IIT Madras Launches Flexible PG Diploma Programme For Fresh Graduates, Working Professionals – News18

IIT Madras has launched a new Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma) programme aimed at helping fresh graduates and working professionals upskill in emerging technology domains.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has announced the launch of new Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma) programmes aimed at upskilling fresh graduates and working professionals in emerging technology domains. Designed with flexibility in mind, these programmes allow learners to continue working full-time or pursue internships while attending live online evening or weekend classes.

These PG Diploma courses are offered in a hybrid format, featuring live sessions, recorded lectures, hands-on projects, and interim assessments with remote proctoring. Final exams will be conducted at designated centres across India. Students will also have the option to visit the IIT Madras campus for lab sessions, wherever applicable.

Applications for the programme are now open and will be accepted until May 2025. Admissions will be based on an entrance examination scheduled for 13 July 2025. Classes are set to commence in August or September 2025. Interested candidates can apply via the official website: https://code.iitm.ac.in/webmtech.

• Engineering Design: E-Mobility
• Process Safety

Commenting on the initiative, Prof Vignesh Muthuvijayan, Associate Chair, Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras, said, “We are addressing the growing need for flexible, industry-relevant technical education that caters to the evolving aspirations of young graduates and working professionals. This program enables students to continue their learning journey without putting their careers on hold.”

One of the unique features of the programme is the opportunity for high-performing students to upgrade to a Web-Enabled M.Tech Degree from IIT Madras, thus gaining advanced technical knowledge and a prestigious postgraduate qualification from the institute.
