In a conversation with Indian Masterminds, Abhishek Jain expressed his pride in the newly decorated wall, which showcases Assam’s vibrant cultural heritage and acts as an informative canvas, presenting important Central and State government initiatives.

Abhishek Jain is an IAS officer of the Assam cadre from the 2020 batch. He is currently serving in Assam’s Chirang district. He completed his schooling in Delhi and graduated with a B.Com degree from Delhi University. After graduation, he started preparing for the UPSC exam wholeheartedly. He never considered the IAS exam to be his backup plan, as he aspires to help people at the grassroots level.
Hailing from an IAS family background, nothing comes off easy. His grandfather served under an IAS officer, and his maternal uncle was also in civil service. Growing up in this environment, Abhishek developed a passion for government jobs and decided to pursue a career as an IAS officer.
IAS Abhishek Jain made two attempts at the UPSC exam before the age of 24, achieving top rankings in both. In his first attempt, he secured the 111th All India rank but was allocated the IRS cadre, which didn’t satisfy his aspiration for IAS. Determined to achieve his goal, he took the UPSC exam again in 2019 and secured the 24th rank.
Sharing his advice on clearing the IAS exam, he promoted self-study and considered it as the best way to excel in the UPSC exam. He underscores the importance of extensive answer writing practice, emphasizes thorough revision, and highlights the value of addressing problems through mock tests. In his view, clearing the UPSC exam requires a clear-cut strategy and a thorough study routine.
